Citadel Theatre tickets & upcoming events

If you're into theaters that pack a punch both in vibe and technical wizardry, the Citadel Theatre's Maclab Theatre in Edmonton is kinda a hidden gem that you should definitely check out. I mean, the backstage facilities are seriously top-notch, some of the best in the country, I dare say. I remember seeing a production of Mary Poppins there with flying effects that looked totally real, thanks to the venue's clever rigging setup. And in 2007, they hosted a rare symphonic concert that hadn’t been performed locally in over fifty years, it was a real treat for classical music fans. The green room? It’s super modern with all the conveniences you could ask for, which is honestly a relief when performers are backstage for hours. Seating options are pretty flexible too, members get special perks, and aisle seats make sneaking in and out during a show much easier. Plus, if you’re coming from the Grandin neighborhood, just hop on the 109 Street bridge and you’re there. Honestly, it’s a must-visit if you’re diving into Edmonton’s arts scene, a spot that’s got history, heart, and a whole lot of talent.
